From the CNC aluminium receiver to the flawlessly engraved markings, every aspect of the DCA Knight's Armament KS-1 / L403A1 has been replicated with extreme precision. Internally, the rifle hosts the Tokyo Marui MWS system, which has already proven itself to be amongst the best in other platforms.

The DCA KS-1 also sports a steel dimpled outer barrel, just like its real counterpart!

However, is it worth the considerable price tag?

Well, initially, I had my eye on the already established VFC version of the KS-1; however, they were sold out everywhere. To be honest, I am glad it sold well and was out of stock, because it forced me to stumble upon this premium version by Dave's Custom Airsoft.

Initially, when I saw the price tag, I almost choked on my cheeseburger! However, after digging deeper into what was on offer here, I immediately raided my bank account and bagged myself one. I also scooped up all available attachments and accessories. But why did I do this? It's just another Airsoft primary. Or is it? Read on!

What cemented my purchase decision was the "training rifle" aspect of it. Not only is it a top-tier Airsoft Gas Blowback primary (trust me, I have many already and can tell the difference) it literally is a training rifle! I purchased a few extra mags and was able to request the follower be taken out of one so that the rifle can be dry-fired! This was excellent news for me because it confirmed the "training aspect" of the primary and the much-added value for my involvement in film production when it comes to armoury props.

Sticking to the training aspect of the DCA KS-1, I was very impressed with the weight!
It literally is comparable to the real steel version! Many airsoft products can be used for training, but at times they lack the realistic weight of their real counterparts. Not so with the DCA KS-1. Check the spec!

What I also appreciated with this DCA version is the beautiful Cerakote finish it has. It looks closer to the real steel counterpart than the VFC version! Although, to be fair, I have not bagged the VFC version yet, so I will be getting that at some point so I can see it for myself; however, from what I have seen online, I believe the DCA version is way better!
